1990 Lotus

Hi,

I'm looking to sell my Elan, currently on 77,308 miles but will increase with use, MOT until 28th April 2020, 4 previous owners. I have owned the car for 6 years – car located near Preston Lancs.

I had a new cambelt/water pump kit fitted shortly after purchase in 2013 (the Rock Auto kit), approx. 5k miles ago.

I have all of the invoices/MOTs etc, the only major expense (in addition to routine items such as tyres, batteries, etc) is a pair of galvanised rear wishbones from SJ Sportscars in 2017 (these are not cheap!). I also had both front wishbones removed, refurbished and re-bushed in May 2019 as a preventative measure - replacements for these are also not cheap!

The car is in excellent condition, the paintwork has no fading or crazing and looks great.

The interior had been refurbished just before I bought the car and is in great condition - no tears, cracks, fading etc. While the seats were stripped to replace the leather the PO added the heating coils for heated seats, I've never used them but they're there if you like that feature.

The same PO had also upgraded the ICE - he fitted a Kenwood amp in the boot and all new speakers - the extra rear speakers are inconspicuous but give a useful bit of extra sound quality with the roof down. Actually, I haven't really made much use of the ICE either but again it's there if you're into it.

The exhaust is a full Piper 2.25" stainless with PCE. The chip is standard but the wastegate size was increased to 21mm when the exhaust was fitted. The sound is nice and mellow but I haven't noticed any increase in performance tbh.

The car has been serviced annually (in addition to any interim work as needed) regardless of the low annual mileage, using Mobil 1 oil and has been carefully looked after.

The hood is in good condition, the rear screen is free from any scratches or discolouring, but the seals could usefully be replaced at some point, as per most Elans.
