The S4S is widely regarded by Lotus enthusiasts as the greatest ever post Giugiaro Esprit next to the Sport 300, and came directly after the introduction of the Sport 300. The S4s was designed as a more comfortable (comfort seats) road version of the Sport 300 which was more track focussed in its design, but retained the same power output. A Sport 300 Esprit will now cost around £70,000 to buy for a good example but first you need to find one. The S4s Esprit was an upgrade to the S4 and was the last 4 cylinder Esprit before the V8 was launched, and shares a very similar look to the V8.......most Esprit fans would say the S4s is the best compromise of all the later Lotus Esprits.

It is rare to see an Esprit S4s come up for sale, and if they do, even rarer to see one in this condition with low mileage, 20 years of history paperwork, and in the perfect Lotus colour combination of yellow & green. All the looks of the V8, with the last of the brilliant 2.2, charge-cooled 4 cylinder Lotus engines, producing a fantastic 300bhp, and as quick as the V8 without the crippling running and servicing costs. Coupling that speed with the agility, and ease of drive of the 4 cylinder package makes the S4s simply the best Esprit evolution. The stunning Oz Futura alloys on the UK S4s together with the early V8 bodykit (with revised front spoiler) help to create a great example of a stunning 90's Supercar. There were 95 S4s made between 1995 & 1996 so total production numbers were low. The fact there were only 2 S4s made in Mica Yellow (a colour usually only seen on the Sport 300 Esprit - the other Mica Yellow Esprit S4s with grey interior was exported to Australia) and this being the only one with the Monarch Leaf leather interior makes this S4s a very unique example to own. Supplied with Lotus Heritage Certificate and copy letter detailing spec and provenance.

This is a genuine future investment, and a fantastically unique Lotus Esprit S4s. Would be a long term keeper but have been turned by the Lotus Exige Sport 380.
