Mazda MX5 2.5 S-VT Sport. Sprinting and Hillclimbing car.

I have owned this car for three years and during that time I have spent a lot of time and money on it.

Both front and rear sub-frames, complete with suspension, have been removed and shot-blasted and fitted with new wishbones. All bushes have been replaced with poly bushes and new springs were fitted. The Bilstein shock absorbers are original because they proved to be in excellent condition.

Both front wings have been replaced with new ones.

The exhaust has been replaced with a “4-2-1”stainless steel manifold complete with stainless steel Sport Cat and stainless steel cobalt twin tail silencer.

The EC unit has been replaced with an ME 221 unit giving it an extra 20BHP and an extra 250RPM.

The rear brake callipers are new and fitted with steel braided hose all round. New brake pads were fitted at the same time.

The wheels have been fitted with the latest Toyo R888R’s and have plenty of tread remaining.

The previous owner had a GAZ Limited Slip Diff fitted which gives tremendous grip coming out of tight corners.

Although the car has 121,000 miles on the clock it has a good service history, at regular intervals, and it runs perfectly, with only two owners before me. The engine runs smoothly with no leaks or any other issues.

A new cam belt was fitted at 118,000 miles and a new clutch was fitted 500 miles ago.

This is a very competitive car that handles extremely well and is very reliable.

It is road legal and has, at times, been my everyday transport for quite a while. It, therefore, has a current MOT until May 2020.

The car has the additional benefit of coming with two extra lightweight doors (not fitted).

I am only selling the car in order to fund a new project, but I’m sure that someone will derive a lot of pleasure from driving it either for track days, sprinting or hill climbing or for fun as a road car.
