2001 MG

Built in Britain, the MGF and MGTF were mid engined rear wheel drive roadsters built by MG from 1995. Initially powered by a 1.8 litre 120bhp engine, the car was hugely popular and received plaudits for its excellent ride and handling. Facelifted in 1999 the car now had a choice of engines from 1.6 litre to the new 1.8 litre VVC (variable valve timing) unit producing 145BHP, a Limited Edition 'Trophy' model followed some time later which produced 160BHP and was the most powerful MGF produced. Our car is one of the more powerful Trophy cars registered in 2001. Finished in striking Trophy Yellow with Black Silverstone half leather trim, the car has covered just 45,000 miles by two owners from new. Other features of the Trophy model include a rear spoiler, Trophy yellow centre console and door card trims, 11 spoke Trophy 16'' alloy wheels, red brake calipers and embossed leather seat trim. Other features include power assisted steering, a windbreak and remote central locking. The previous enthusiast owner of this car is no stranger to MGs. He traded this car in to us against a lovely MGRV8 and he has also owned an MGTD and numerous MGBs amongst other exotica. Recently featured in MG Enthusiast Magazine, the car presents beautifully and drives just as well. Since purchasing the car in 2016, the owner embarked in making the car as good as possible and took the car to his bodyshop for a few touch ups - as usual, the job escalated into having 2 new wings and a high quality respray. £2,500 later (bills on file) the end result is the show quality car offered today. Mechanically the car has received a great deal of care and attention over the years with a substantial service and MOT history record in the cars history file, the notorious head gasket, water pump and cambelt were renewed in 2016 just 5,000 miles ago.
