2002 996 Carrera 4S with Hartech 3.9 litre engine.

Basalt black metallic with full black leather interior.

Interior: Full leather interior extended to dash and doors. Alcantara headlining, alloy silver centre console, heated seats with memory. PSM traction control system, heated electric mirrors, rear wiper, retractable rear spoiler control. The original PCM 1 Satellite Navigation & 6 CD changer have been removed and replaced with a modern Kenwood Double din with Apple Carplay, Android Auto and forward facing dash cam connected to the original Bose amp and speakers.

Engine: 3.9 litre Engine by Hartech. Full rebuild on the original engine including conversion to 3900cc with new oversize pistons, new oversize closed deck aluminium alloy nikasil plated liners, new timing chains and guides, crank shaft bearings, new intermediate shaft (improved 997 version with more reliable bearing), full cylinder head overhaul, new Air Oil Separator, spark plugs, cooling channel mods, low temp thermostat, water pump, oil cooler, PAS pump.

Whilst at Hartech the car additionally had a new carden shaft rubber and a start motor.

The engine rebuild was completed in June 2018 at 72k miles at a cost of over £13.5k and comes with a 2 year transferable engine warranty valid until the end of June 2020.

Power: I can’t quote you exact figures as Hartech do not provide any, however having driven numerous other 911’s it pulls far harder than a 997 3.8S. As explained to me by Barry Hart at Hartech the conversion is about torque and not BHP. Everyone is obsessed by BHP but it is torque that gets you moving and that is what you notice with this conversion. The car now makes it’s pevious peak torque figure 1,000rpm lower down the rev range and continues to a new much higher peak, this allows it to pull far harder than a 3.6 making downshifts for overtaking a choice rather than a necessity. Hartech could have chased absolute BHP as others do but they have tuned the car to be everyday driveable with plenty of low down torque and useable power across the rev range.

Gearbox: 6 speed manual gearbox, new clutch fitted in Jan 2016.

Exhaust: Designtek PSE switchable rear silencers and tubular manifolds with standard catalytic converters.

The silencers were fitted in Feb 18 just prior to the engine rebuild, the manifolds were supplied to Hartech and fitted by them during the rebuild and so were included during the remap of the larger engine.

The switchable silencers are controlled by an original dash mounted PSE switch. Solid sporty sound in normal mode, not excessive and no drone. Deep rumble on tick over and loud when switched to sport.

Suspension: Great condition, refurbished by Brookspeed in Southampton in February 2019 at 76,634 miles. New front leading and trailing arms, new rear trailing arms, new front drive shafts and full geometry.

Brakes: Calipers in great condition, recent discs and pads.

Wheels: Original Turbo 18 inch wheels, recently refurbished to as new condition.

Tyres: Michelin Pilot Sport N rated tyres all round, fitted in Feb 2019 at 76,634 miles.

Bodywork: Great condition, dent free, non-sunroof coupe, some minor stone chips at the front.

Lights: All clear, no hazing or yellowing at all. Rear left light recently replaced.

Service History: Full Porsche Main dealer service history up to the Hartech engine rebuild in June 2018. The car has been serviced by Brookspeed Porsche Specialist Southampton since.

I have owned this car for over 6 years and I’m loathed to part with it, it should be a keeper but I want to try other cars and I can’t keep them all.
