Description

The second generation of the 997 GT3 model is increasingly being recognised as a stand out model. Featuring the 3.8 litre Metzger engine with six speed manual gearbox and hydraulic steering, it combines the rawness of a Porsche GT model whilst remaining very usable on a regular basis with all of the comforts one expects in a modern car. The term ‘last analogue model’ is much over used but this could be it!
This example is finished in the rare and great optional colour of Meteor Grey which really suits the GT3, it must be one of the finest of its type. It has covered 16,700 road miles in the hands of three owners and remains in virtually unmarked original order throughout. The original invoice from supplying dealer, Porsche Centre Tonbridge, on file details the very high specification the car features with virtually every option available being included:
Leather interior in black
Dynamic Engine Mounts
PCCB (ceramic brakes)
Front Axle Lifting System
Dynamic Curve LG
Sound Package Plus
Universal Audio Interface
Floor Mats
Auto Int/Ext plus Sns
Sports Bucket Seats M+003
Metallic Paint
Telephone Module
Sports Chrono Plus Package
PCM Navigation Pack
Lid of Centre Console Storage in Alcantara with Porsche script
Carbon rear centre console
Carbon interior package
Painted mirror attachment
Outer door sill guards in carbon with illuminated model type
Homelink garage opener
Porsche VTS Tracker System
The invoice amounted to just shy of £102,000, an expensive GT3 by any measure at the time.
The first owner took delivery from Porsche Tonbridge on the 6th November 2009, he returned the car to this dealer for the first service in February 2012 with 10,395 miles recorded and then sold the car in September 2012 at 11,400 miles.
The second owner purchased the GT3 following a full inspection on his behalf by the highly respected Porsche authority, Peter Morgan. A copy of his report on file is highly complementary with no faults being found other than a slight scuff to the under tray and very minor stone chips. Following purchase this second owner used the Porsche very sparingly and kept it with a professional storage company. His tenure lasted until 2016 during which the mileage rose to 16,000 miles. Prior to sale a major service was completed by the Porsche Centre in West London.
In 2016 the last owner purchased the GT3 to join his notable private collection of very special cars. Following purchase, the car was evaluated by Porsche specialists Clark and Carter, the only item requiring attention was a scuffed wheel rim which was duly corrected. In this ownership the car has again seen little use and has been carefully looked after in perfect conditions.
All books, tools and keys are present along with a folder of documentation which includes original invoice, maintenance invoices and the above-mentioned condition report.
