Description

---DESCRIPTION AND HISTORY---
Reluctant sale of my Renault Sport Clio 182 Trophy No. 387. House move forces sale otherwise I'd love to hang onto this one; having always hankered after a Trophy! Needs must and I need to raise some additional capital.
A Clio Trophy that you can take out and enjoy on the road/track as intended without any feeling of guilt.
Almost guaranteed to provide depreciation free motoring and indeed likely to rise in value in the coming years. 5* EVO car that has appeared in the magazine's top 10 best driver's cars of all time and finished 3rd in the 2005 car of the year issue. Arguably the best and last 'proper' hot hatchback. An appreciating modern classic with extremely low mileage examples being marketed for in excess of £15k. No. 387 is priced to sell - being one of, if not the, cheapest Trophy for sale currently.
Current mileage is 126125 miles, giving an average of only 10000 miles per year. Unlikely to rise much now as I have a replacement run-around...though I might struggle to avoid taking it out if the weather is good.
Bought from Liverpool and taken up to Scotland in April this year. The car has been faultless whilst in my ownership and required no mechanical attention except for completing an annual service. I've enjoyed the car on road, one track day and at a couple of hillclimb events. There's plenty photos on my Instagram account 'mmmctavish' showing the cars recent history.
Having owned a 182 Cup for 7 years (bought with 15k on the clock form BTCC champion Tim Harvey - ooo name drop) so I would like to think I know how a 182 should behave. This Trophy surpasses that car in every way - handling is brilliant, brakes are firm/powerful, engine pulls hard and uses no oil. Clutch feels as it should and the gear box makes no untoward noises.
The car is mechanically sound and sympathetically upgraded having been well looked after by previous enthusiast owners. This can be seen below with key service items having been recently taken care of (cam belt and Sachs dampers).
Body work is average considering the age of the car - some small dings/scratches/stone chips etc. around the car. The wind screen has a few small chips - but none to worry about come MOT time. Headlights could do with a machine polish to remove clouding. Small rust bubble on front left corner of bonnet which I'm told is quite common on Clios now.
Interior is in great condition with only some small wear marks on the driver's seat bolster; again consistent with the age of the car and style of set.
Whilst it isn't a garage queen it scrubs up well enough and if someone wanted to, it would be easy to rectify these small issues. I've included photographs of the aforementioned points. New plain number plates included; bought last week.
No outstanding finance nor previously written off. I paid for a full HPI check prior to purchasing the car.
---CONTACT DETAILS AND VIEWINGS---
Please get in touch if you wish to view. Evenings and weekends are normally best as I work 08:00-16:30.Test drives only with proof of fully comprehensive insurance. I'm happy to demonstrate the car in either case - with a good mix of roads locally.
Located in Aberdeen, Scotland. Great air and rail links to the south - I paid £79 to fly to Manchester and £8 for a train to Liverpool in order to collect the car. Happy to collect from the Air Port or Station.
