1993 TVR

Lovingly restored and upgraded into a TVR that now goes and stops as good as it sounds while still maintaining all the good looks it was born with.

When I first bought this car it had all the typical TVR faults including rotten outriggers, worn camshafts and less than claimed power.

The first thing I did was take it to TVR Specialist Scole Engineering to have the outriggers replaced. I then moved on to the braking and handling by fitting a set of GAZ Monotube suspension, Powerflex bushes, Toyo Proxes tyres and EBC Yellowstuff Pads.

Next I wanted it to go and sound like the TVR of my dreams so the camshafts were replaced with V8 Developments Stealth camshafts, the ECU was replaced with a Megasquirt 3 by ExtraEFI and the entire wiring loom was replaced with a brand new one. The radiator was re-cored to provide ample cooling on a hot day. To improve performance further, and the sound, the manifolds were replaced with ACT Performance Manifolds, ACT carbon fibre trumpets and an ACT smooth induction kit. All the hoses were replaced with new silicone ones. Finally, the car was taken to Bailey Performance and produced 303hp on their dyno.

Finally, I changed the lights to modern units so they were actually usable in the dark, changed the side indicators to a clear version as per later models and tidied up the engine bay with chrome and powder coating.

With all the work finished the car still retains its beautiful looks but goes and sounds like a TVR should and is reliable like a much more modern vehicle.
