One of the “Last of the Few” ! December 2006 - 11 years ago……the sands of time ran out and TVR closed its doors in Blackpool.

RB06TVR is a rare example of one of TVR’s two final “Halo” Supercar Sportscars. This stunning “Wavy Dashboard” Mk 3 Tuscan 4.0S-engined Targa was built in the early part of 2006, before orders for TVRs drained away - for a variety of largely undeserved reasons. The Factory in Blackpool shut down at Christmas that year.

Tragic !! Reliable and Genuine Supercar Performance offered in drop Dead Gorgeous Tuscan and Sagaris bodies with a Speed Six engine soundtrack to die for ? All for a Price of under £50,000 incl VAT! And an empty Order Book !!?? What was the British buying public thinking?.

Three years later, Nikolai Smolenski sold 11 of the 25 unfinished TVRs - the last on the production line and in varying stages of commencement or completion - to Jason Clegg, MD of Str8six Ltd. Two of these cars were Sagaris and the remainder were Tuscan Targas and Convertibles. Over the years to 2012 all were finished - save 3 that were held for Spares and the future…. !! (Singer Tuscan anyone ??!!).

You can perhaps understand that the knowledge of Str8six’s engineers regarding the TVR Tuscan is deep and intimate – and that’s before you consider that we have built and campaigned a Str8six 4.7 litre Speed Six-engined Tuscan in the Dunlop TVR Championship for the last 5 years. This car finished second overall and was outright winner in its class in 2016 and 2017.

So what has this to do with RB06TVR? Well, this specific, very handsome TVR Tuscan was serviced during its life by a variety of franchised dealers and non-franchised specialists before its third owner sold it to a Porsche specialist in part exchange for a GT3RS….. They offered the car to us and we bought it knowing it to be one of only 30 or so Tuscan Mk 3 Targas built - and one of even fewer equipped with the 4.0S engine used in the Sagaris. These Mk 3 cars are also known to benefit from the much more reliable 2006 generation Sagaris wiring loom and dashboard Instrumentation.

However, on arrival at Str8six, the car’s engine was found to be slightly noisy when cold. No other dealer’s paperwork commented on that!! And indeed, most people would probably not have noticed this. The engine was removed and stripped, revealing 9 thousandths ovality - in one cylinder bore only. This was a fault with the interference fit of No 5 cylinder’s liner. So, all 6 liners were replaced and the engine’s bottom end was rebuilt. At the same time, all the Speed Six oil and coolant modifications were incorporated, and upgraded half time bearings were fitted. So, no half measures and no corners cut.

We then continued with our usual preparation - carrying out a full 12K service, fitting new suspension and brake components, new coolant, oil and fuel hoses and completing a full Optiline 4 wheel geometry set up. The car has been very carefully prepared in all areas so that not only does it look absolutely beautiful, it is also technically fully fit to carry Str8six’s Warranty.

This car is finished in very rare Aston Martin Tungsten Silver. The interior is trimmed in Portland and Heron Grey with silver grey stitching. The carpets are in light Grey with Grey binding . The doors are finished in two shades of Grey leather and the Targa Roof Panel’s headlining is pale Grey alcantara. The car rides on pristine Slver Spider alloys fitted with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres. Air Conditioning is installed.

The entire car is factory standard – other than for the Str8six engine upgrades and the following improvements: Gas discharge dipped beam headlamp units; Stainless steel wheel nuts; Nitron Shock absorbers and Suplexsprings; Polished stainless steel rear exhaust silencers and a Sony Bluetooth DAB sound system with Alpine Door and Parcel Shelf speakers

This Tuscan will, of course, be supplied with Str8six's renowned "All the 12's" handover specification. The car has already had a full Pre Delivery Inspection and a 12,000 miles (with valve clearance) service. It will receive a full 12 months road fund licence, 12 months MOT and our 12 months/12,000 miles Full Wear and Tear warranty (covering parts and labour). It will be also be supplied with an interfaced 12 Volt trickle charger and with an Anderson Jump Lead cable.
