Clean Air Act PCN - how to dispute
Discussion
So I got a PCN for driving through a road in Hammersmith and Fulham. I can't remember seeing the Clean Air Act sign but I am pretty certain it did not say that only residents and their visitors can pass through.
In my defence its the first time I have been on those roads in a decade, and had no idea what a Clean Air Zone even is.
Has anyone successfully disputed one and would you have any advice?
thanks

How do Clean Air Neighbourhoods work?
They keep streets open without physical barriers and give control back to residents.
By using the latest automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras, they ensure that H&F residents from across the borough can access the area freely and that visitors, deliveries and contractors can get free access via the RingGo parking app.
Road signs warn out-of-borough drivers about cameras to stop them using residential streets as shortcuts.
Find out more about the South Fulham Clean Air Neighbourhood project.
So I guess to dispute you'd have to prove the signage is inadequate?

This is the work of the devil.
My first time reading about it.
I would dispute it on the basis that you're unfamiliar and couldn't have known about it before traveling into the zone. You've not 'offended' before!
That isn't a legal defence but compassionate appeal is sometimes successful and worth trying when it looks to be sewn up. + it's the truth.

Clean air zones aren’t exactly an unknown in the area so it wouldn’t have been difficult to check before travelling
The first time I've heard about them was a week or so ago on the TV - possibly the newsI drive into London every couple of weeks
Same when the LEZ was introduced the first time I knew about it was when I saw the signs - too late by then
I asked on here and was told it had been all over the radio - London radio stations - not everywhere else
I had one of these but they were giving warning letters when the trial started
unfortunately there is no way to dispute as signage is there and the cameras are located by the width restriction gate
i can see why they've done it as i used it as shortcut to get to wandsworth bridge
now i have to come through fulham high st which isnt too bad in the evenings

Honestly what in the actual f
k has this country come to.
It is an absolute disgrace. Climate change is a religion observed by the government and local authorities and we're being made to pay because they hold these beliefs.
k has this country come to. There are a lot of facts banded about surrounding air pollution and climate change. Many of them can be disputed one way or another.
What cannot be disputed however is that paying taxes will not change the weather.
