I'm stopped in traffic on the A361 just passing the roundabout at Landkey on route to a few days away in the Braunton area and BANG.....WTF was that..we'd been rear ended.

It was like someone had shot a gun in the car it was that much of a shock.

Baby ok, were a bit stiff and the poor old girl behind clearly at fault shook up.

The painful bit was the A361 roadworks that seem to have been going for about 5 years meant we had nowhere to stop and exchange details so we had to drive along for about a mile and meant no witnesses although there was a load of road workers right next to us so I can at least get back to the works site if I need to and the other driver doesn't play ball).

Cars ok just now the inconvenience of repairs.

The roadbuilders probably won't remember, and it was probably their fault, as the old girl that drove into you was probably ogling them. Probably!

On a stretch of 2/3 miles or so it was probably me at fault as I was actually gobsmacked when I saw someone working!

The roadbuilders probably see a lot of people crashing for that exact reason lol!

I would be more concerned about my young family than rushing to post about it on the internet.

But maybe that’s just me.

Someone rear ended me a couple of months ago. No damage to my car, his front number plate broken. I get called a 'dhead' because I didn't move off when there was a stationary car in front of mine.

Now I've calmed down a bit I feel I can share the experience. biggrin

is this not a motoring based forum for discussing all things motoring related (and more)? are you in the "what people can post on forums" police force?

Sorry to hear about your accident, hope you and your family are ok. These things do happen though, I should expect the other driver will be accepting liability as it sounds fairly straightforward.

And you needed to comment on this thread that you deem superfluous, why? You could, maybe even ought to, have just ignored it.

What we have here, is a couple of bores.

If you don't like a thread, move on.

Better yet, start your own, I'm sure it will belong to the 0 reply abyss in no time at all.

Well she clearly made a mistake, and the OP never has. I am also a moronic driver, as I've made many mistakes over the years.

I did reiterate to the driver that mistakes happen...I think to hit me in traffic that we'd been in for a good 15 mins has given me the freedom of PH to describe them as Moronic.

Not heard yet from insurer (who I work for lol).....Im just praying she's not with my insurer as I'll be eating beans on toast come bonus season.

Rear dashcam is more essential than a front if you ask me.

No need for AEB, nor for dashcams - Just allow drivers to make mistakes and run into each other, even if the collision could be avoided by the non-fault party.

After a couple of years insurance premiums will have to start increasing to cover the claims, then very few people will be able to afford to drive.

Could you imagine if the government brought in restricting drivers below a certain apittude level in a test to certain sized vehicles (It couldn't be done on age because you can't discriminate).
