M27 70 mph Cameras
Discussion
Has anyone been caught by the sneaky yellow cameras hidden behind the stanchions for the overhead gantries on new sections of the M27?
My understanding of 'smart' motorways is you will get nicked if you exceed a lit up limited speed less than 70mph but even though they have the 'capability' to switch the gantry cameras on for 70 they have yet to do so.
But I was tipped off to these fixed yellow cameras sadly after a return trip past a few of them. Nothing crazy but enough to trigger a 70mph camera.
Has anyone got tickets from these?

The cameras and IR emitters are pretty obvious to be fair. Apart from one set either side of the Hedge End junction which really are in front of the stanchion pole. The other clue is the additional CCTV cameras which are only in front of the gantry that actually have a camera on them. They have been active at all times since they were put in.

Yes op, had some experience of those cameras, so far so good! Have you actually been ticketed?

Maybe spend a bit more time being a grown up and not pretending you're a racing driver.

So I'm a tosser? well I'm also a tosser with a clean licence, and don't need to come on PH and bleat about driving too fast and getting flashed by cameras, looking for sympathy from other muppets.

Thanks for replying. Suspicions confirmed. Yes, you're a tosser. Maybe spend a bit more time being a grown up and not pretending you're a racing driver.

I've also a clean licence. Big deal. I've spent many years driving too fast and never bleat when caught, which is hardly ever, because I think about the when and the where. But those are the risks when you're prepared to do so. But you already know that because only a full on, beyond tosser territory t
t, would come and say they never speed. So, you're not just a vanilla tosser, but an assumptive tosser. And a liar if you come back with a " I never speed " reply.
If you can't say something to assist the op with his question, why bother replying?
Yes the cameras work and last year caught a number of drivers ignoring the red X showing a closed lane on the motorway
