So Carlo Nash is caught doing 140mph on the A11 in Norfolk (a couple of weeks after being caught doing 88mph, for what it's worth).

He is banned for 34 weeks and fined £400 - seems a bit of a result to me considering the speed.

However, the ban is suspended while he appeals.

Really?! 140mph and he thinks he can get away without a ban? I so hope he does not get away with this.

I can't believe he didn't think "Better be careful, wouldn't want to get busted again" when driving on the same road.

I was once told that if you are banned at a court hearing, you appeal immediately (to allow you to drive home) and drop the appeal as soon as you get home.

I don't know how true this is. Thankfully, I've never had to put it to the test.

8 months appears to be too long and his appeal against sentence is likely to succeed. My last 142 mph case resulted in a £500 fine and a 3 month ban.

I have a couple of very high speed cases pending. "Pitmansboots" is involved in one of them!

140 - outrageous.

I've never been as fast as that on public roads. Hang, draw and quarter him.

Carole is spelled with an "e" at the end amd I can't see her doing that, she is the self proclaimed Queen of Insurance after all.

Speed matters. There but for the grace of whomsoever go many of us. Perhaps he used his own judgement. There was no road traffic collision. Why would you wish ill on a fellow petrolhead?

So if I lost residence of my daughter, and then lost my job and for some reason had to rely on claiming benefits to get by, I'd be an 'absent' father and 'scrounger'?
