Is this a Scam? V5C received
Discussion
I have received a V5 in the post for a car that I have never owned, wrong name but our address. I have phoned DVLA and they have asked me to send it to the sensitive case work team. They wouldnt discuss if it was a scam or just a mistake. any thoughts and if it is a scam or identity theft how would it work? any advice welcome.
I have posted it back to the DVLA.
Thanks

Chances are the salesman or admin person at the dealer who sold have put the wrong house number when completing the V5.
If one of your neighbours has the car in question I would just give it to them and ask them to get it changed.
The car was in Waltham Cross with the last owner around 240 miles away, could be auction or made its way to the North. we only have a few houses near us and we know the people. If one of your neighbours has the car in question I would just give it to them and ask them to get it changed.
thanks,
