My nasty neighbour next door has put up a video camera by his front door, it is one of those upside down domed things so cannot see which way it is pointing but presume it is some sort of wide angle camera.

This could be staring directly at my front door so what are the rules around this sort thing?

His property, his right i think. Unless you could prove he was specifically watching you. What makes you think he is?

Firstly he is a nasty person so there is zero trust, I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire and no doubt the feeling is mutual. I don't know whether he is or not but I do want to understand what is acceptable and what isn't.

rig up a green laser to shine straight at it from your property. It will blind it. If it's powerful enough and / or you leave it on long enough it will damage the camera. If you do it at night it will be easy to aim the laser correctly. Obviously I don't really advocate this before everyone comes on crying about criminal damage.
