Hi All , bit confused so be gentle!
Wife bought a DVLA plate last year for her car , for various reasons we had not got round to putting it on. Then we got a reminder that we either had to put it on a car or pay £25 to retain it. So I got her to fill out the paperwork and send it off together with the old V5c and the MOT certificate.
We ignored the section regarding tax disc as we renewed it last month onto the new monthly DD procedure.
So my Questions are :
Has anyone else successfully done this post tax disc becoming obsolete?
What happens next , do we just get a letter with a new V5c and have a period of time to get plates made ?
Do we get an acknowledgement letter and how long does the process take?
What happens if our date of expiry for the plate comes before they have completed it ? Plate was dated to 30th November and details were sent last week?
when do you change insurance over?
Can I use the receipt for the plate to get actual number plates made up?
Does the tax direct debit get transferred over automatically?
Just how many times will she get stopped under ANPR because nothing in the paperwork lines up any more?
Actually joking aside what should she carry in the car in case she is stopped?

Many Thanks
