I know I could get the details on a house if I wanted but is there anything you can do about fields/paddocks ?
Field near me has been "sold" to some transit driving horse owners with a love of cob horses and trotting carts, no real problems at the moment but I think its just a matter of time !
Also suspect that the very elderly owner of the plot might not know that her son has sold the land
Do sales like this get recorded anywhere ?
cheers

Speak to your local land registry lot, they can be quite useful, if you can get an OS map and show them where it is on there, even more so IME.

Yes, you should be able to see title numbers on the mapsearch feature which is free (at least to me it is). If it's not available to the public, send me a map and I will let you know the title number.

Many thanks for the replies
So is the title number the reference for a particular plot ?

Yes, generally, assuming it hasn't been split into multiple titles and we are talking freehold only rather than leasehold.

Next thing is that there will be a static caravan appearing on the site.

As above yes.

Also if you contact the council I find these departments actually helpful.

all land sales must be recorded

go here

http://eservices.landregistry.gov.uk/wps/portal/Pr...

click on map enquiry
click on the region on the big map
a proper map will open, you can then zoom into the area, when you get quite close you can turn on sat / birds eye view to get a proper view. Once you are zoomed to the closest couple of level you can then set find properties to on, and your pointer becomes a circle (which you can alter the size of) and when you click it will list any records in that area, might have to poke around a bit probing a few m away from where it is, but you should find it, depends how recent the sale was though, takes a couple of months to get on there
