Avoiding hitting a toddler I crashed my car. No big deal.

However I've broken the arm rest at the same time. As in ripped the top part off, it's electric and expensive.

Is it covered?

Thanks

You crashed your car and the only damage is a arm rest?

No, there is other damage but he ripped off the armrest to beat the errant child to death with for causing him to crash his car and now wonders if he can claim for the damage to that as well a in his eyes it is all part of the same accident wink

Ha not quite - child ran out. I swerved and hit a wall. No damage to wall and not a massive amount of damage to car. Still drivable. However my arm was on arm wrest and managed to rip the top off. Now it's one of them armrests you can put your phone in etc... Probably about 5/600 for body damage if I did it privately. But with armrest it's looking at a grand.

My excess is only £50 and I have protected no claims - plus it looks like I might be getting a company car, so it seems daft not to claim. However I just wanted to check if my fat arm ripping off the armrest top would be covered. Looks like it is so it's fine. I've notified insurance - and am just waiting for a good time to take the car to a bodyshop now as it's drivable.

With a broker - so I don't know who the underwriter is. Give me some time to look through my emails to find out. Got to go pick someone up from the airport so it might be later or 5 minutes depending on my gmail searching (or googling if you are thick like me).

Apparently it's not a broker... Just a company I've not heard off before - General Accident. Although I was looking through my quote history in the emails and there are loads with £0 excess. Just more expensive. At the time I just went for the cheapest.
