As per the title.

Can anyone recommend me a personal injury / road traffic accident claims specialist in the Manchester area?

A friend was knocked off his bicycle on Christmas day and received some quite serious injuries, bike mullered etc. the accident was the car drivers fault, police involved, but she is insured, so I'd like to point him in the direction of a decent, professional claims handler / solicitor. I know there are hundreds fighting for this type of work, but I'd prefer a recommended one.

Many thanks in advance.

Try Total Law in the centre of Manchester. Small firm that normally specialise in defendant work but they also do some claimant and they may take your case on.

Pannone are a good Manchester firm. Recently merged with Slater & Gordon who are a personal injury behemoth!

Peter Jerman at Principia Law. Based out of Northwich if that's not too far.

Isn't it a shame that a solicitor is required to put their snout in the trough, I would like to say your friend should deal direct with the insurer and they would be reasonable but that is just rubbish. Ho hum.

Because the insurers have a financial interest in case, which of course means they will deal fairly and not try to settle it by paying out as little as possible....

Mr Local, Slater and Gordon are good, I think there is a Leigh Day office in Manchester as well and they do the British Cycling Association work.

Wish your friend a speedy recovery, a work colleague had a similar incident in the summer, Brompton totalled and took 16 weeks to recover enough to return to work, but still walks with a limp (nasty leg break just below the knee). He's using a local specialist in Teesside . . .
I arrived just after it happened and the most galling part was the other driver not apologising after T boning him and to this date has not heard from them. Police sent her on a driver improvement course . . .

Try 'Amelans' of Didsbury; http://www.amelans.co.uk/why-use-amelans/people/an...

The owner, Andrew, is a mate of mine and was the founder of 'Injury Lawers 4 you'. They have specialist RTA personnel too. Andrew is the chap who fronted a series on TV a couple of years ago about the injury claims industry so fair to say he knows his stuff.

Good luck to your friend.

I saw the program and he came over as a complete dick, although he looks to be the type of complete dick of a PI solicitor you would want on your side

Andrew Twambley is a smart cookie and a bit of a personality on the PI circuit. He's probably public enemy number one for those on PH who complain of compensation culture (whatever that is supposed to mean).
