I was sat at some traffic lights this afternoon and to my right a white corsa was trying to squeeze into a parallel parking space about the size of a bus. The old lady driving got the whole thing wrong and reversed straight into the bumper of a car parked in the bay behind.
I noted the reg and went on to my appointment in town and when I drove back noticed the car was still there so had a quick look for damage. Nothing major but a decent scuff and potentially some cracks. I left a note with my contact number explaining what I had seen.
Even though I have probably done the "right" thing, I resent doing it as whenever I have become involved in witness situations before it has turned in to a lot of hassle.
So, my question is - have you ever got involved in someone elses business as a good Samaritan with either positive/negative results?

If it's convenient for me, then absolutely. Anything to get the scum who hit parked car, and feck off.
ThisSaw a van come out of a bay the other weekend and drag the side across the rear quarter of a parked focus, doing in the rear quarter, bumper and pulling off the trim. Admittedly it was pretty beaten up anyway but I left a note after the van driver re-attached the trim (badly) wiped off some transferred/stripped paint with spit and walked off leaving most of the scuff/dent remaining and leaving no details. That was a few weeks back and I've heard noting, reckon they either don't care, have just sent it to insurance or the van driver came back and removed the note after I left
