About a month ago I ordered an item from a website that I had used for the first time.

Fast forward to two weeks later I hadnt received the Items, so I checked the online tracker and the items were shown as "Delivered (left in car trailer)" now I dont have a car trailer in my garden, so checked the online order and I had infact entered "4" instead of "40" on the address line and it had been delivered to a different address down my street, so I went to the house(had a car trailer in the garden) and spoke to the owner who advised that they had given it back to the courier when it arrived as they wasnt expecting a parcel.

Contacted website, who advised courier doesnt have the parcel and that they left it in the trailer and to fill out a "Non reciept of good form" so I filled it in (this is coming up to 4 weeks now) and they e-mailed me back saying due to the fact I entered the address wrong there is no comeback (then why make me fill in the form?)

The goods are to the effect of £40 which isnt an inconsiderable amount of money, I know I have been a fool for not double checking the order before I sent it.

Is there anything I can do under distance selling reg's etc. or am I fooked.

I would say you're stuffed as you caused the problem.

Non-delivery/theft from trailer/dishonest driver is secondary problem.

It's interesting. Your failure to get the address correct, might not actually mean that you have no rights under the distance selling regs, as these are separate issues.

Interesting in theory, not so much in practice.

You put number 4 in as the delivery address; they delivered to number 4 therefore have fulfilled their part of the deal.

If they had delivered to the wrong address you'd have an argument but.....

You could return it under distance selling regs, but you don't have it of course.

Suck it up - buy another one.
