....what happens next?

I get a letter? a photo? do I get a letter that requires I say it was me or someone else?

Neither of us have ever had a ticket. She was rather foolishly doing 45 in a 30 she tells me.

how do you know she got caught

if it was a camera flashing at you odds are its a dummy

they have 14 days to get the NIP to the registered keeper

If she was caught you should get a letter within 14 days. It is possible that the camera was not on at the time, but if it was you will get one in your name asking who was driving and if you accept the charge etc. You will have to send it back saying she was driving. I think they then send another letter in her name and she ticks to say she was driving and accepts that she was speeding etc. Not 100% sure of the full process as I have only ever been caught going slow enough for a speed awareness course and I was driving my car, so never had to do anything other than tick "Yes it was me" on the first letter.

Thanks everyone. Just what I wanted to clear up. I'll wait patiently for a letter to arrive.

I must admit I was expecting something on the lines of a camera you fitted to your car had recorded her speeding & were asking for suggestions of how best to deal with her........laugh

I was thinking it was to do with dashcams as well.

There are no cameras fitted within my car. I apologise for any confusion/false hopes.
