Hello all,
Last night my girlfriend had a couple of drinks (literally 2!) and left her car in a taxi bay(it used to be a popular town which warranted a taxi bay, this is no longer the case). We got there at 7.55 am to find that the car had been ticketed. I was surprised at this so early in the morning but I am sure they are within their rights to issue it.
One query I have is that they have inputted a slightly incorrect registration. Is there grounds for saying that this invalidates the ticket? The mistake isn't a big one, they've substituted a '0' for an 'o.'
What do we think? I know many of you will say pay the fine and get on with it but if we for any reason can wriggle out of it we would naturally like to.
Thanks in advance.

Wrong reg on the ticket?
Had this myself, decided not to pay or contact them and to wait it out to see if anything arrived by post (a London borough). Needless to say, as the reg was wrong I never received any further correspondence and didn't pay, whether that's owing to automation at that particular council I'll never know.
It's definitely a gamble but had they contacted me I would have paid it (after arguing for the reduced rate)

The council never contact you or chase you up. They will only make you pay if they impound your car for any other reason.Had this myself, decided not to pay or contact them and to wait it out to see if anything arrived by post (a London borough). They will have a picture to support the ticket most likely. Pay up, move on and wind the mrs up about not parking in Taxi ranks againLast night my girlfriend had a couple of drinks (literally 2!) and left her car in a taxi bay(it used to be a popular town which warranted a taxi bay, this is no longer the case).
