My MX5 was parked on the public highway and a neighbour has just reversed into it. Their towbar has mad a nice mess of the rear wing, bumper and light. They've admitted doing it and will be dropping insurance details in shortly .

I've already reported it to my insurers ( a well known nautical brand), who've given me the details of their no-fault claims team.

Suggestions/experience/advice please. Should I go through the no-fault team, approach the other insurer directly, or use Mazda's own Accident Management service (http://www.mazda.co.uk/buying-owning/owning/accident-management/ ) ?

That'll likely be an AMC.

Yep - they've already texted me and called me twice..

Just checked the Mazda option and that seems reasonable - they'll ensure the work is done by a Mazda approved repairer, use Mazda genuine parts, etc.

The other insurer will be anxious to sort you out (so to speak...) because that way they maintain control of the cost wink .

They'll also be anxious to "see you right" and to keep you happy? You could ask them to use the Mazda repairer and Mazda parts.

Once Mazda or your own insurers' AMC are involved then the potential costs rise significantly frown .

If your vehicles in a roadworthy condition I would wait for the third party to supply you their insurance details, once you get them call them and offer them the opportunity to deal with your claim. Most likely they will instruct ERAC

Despite me telling my insurer that I wouldn't be using their no-fault claims handler (ie accident management firm), the company have called 7 times so far today..

Your insurer gets paid a referral fee if you use the AMC services (hire vehicle), have you contacted the 3rd party insurer?

Not as yet - only got the details from the 3rd party today.

Probably going to take the easy option and let Mazda's AMC deal with it - at least that ensures the cars bodywork and mechanical warranty are unaffected.

Main task at the moment is to persuade Albany Assist/Admiral Law to stop calling/writing to me!
Given that Admiral Law can't even get my address right (correct on policy) that doesn't inspire confidence in their service.

I'm not surprised about the number of dubious PI claims either, despite me telling Admiral that the vehicle was unoccupied, every letter/email mentions that they will be glad to help if medical issues occur.
Surely their systems should flag up it's a no injury claim and stop mentioning injury in all correspondence?
