I've been approached by a chap, connection being through my fathers hairdresser about renting some land of me to store some cars he sells.

He's a trader and claims they'd be covered under his trader insurance. He wouldnt be showing the cars from our property, this is not something i'd permit - security issues etc. Are there any liability scenarios i should be aware of before agreeing to leasing some land to him, other than the tax implications of me having additional income? Is there likely to be mortgage /house insurance clauses that would not favor this?

Obviously I want no comeback / hassle for this so want to ensure before agreeing to anything i've got all bases covered.

Thanks.

This is very simple. Go to Lawyer,Lawyer draws up lease, tenant signs lease. Job done.

We rent off land on our Industrial Estate for HGV parking.

It should be a fairly simple Agreement but does need to protect you from any possible claims etc.

What is the land registered as, I'd imagine that if it's agricultural for instance, there's a planning issue if you use it for car storage.
