Gotta be a record considering the amount of motorbikes I've owned and the fact that I'm not a slow car driver, so I guess it had to happen.

Police camera van on a bridge over the A12 on the way to Norwich. I did see it and the car in front was going a lot faster so I presumed he'd get zapped. Can they do cars in quick succession?

The summons says 86 in a 70.

What should I expect in fines and points. My last points were wiped off my licence in my very early 20s, I'm 53 this year frown

Have things changed? I got done at that speed on a motorway and got 3 points and a £60 fine about five yrs ago.

3 points & £100 fine, or perhaps an invite to attend a Speed Awareness Course - no points for the latter, but similar costs to the FPN.

Reading the penalty notice it looks like up to 96 it's fines and points or a speed awareness course.

Are these courses local or does one have to go back to Norwich.

And Silver I was 2 when you passed your test biggrin

The Fixed Penalty fine was increased from £60 to £100 a while back.

Awareness course likely to be upto 86mph (limit +10% +9mph is the usual criteria).

Norfolk SCP is part of NADIP so yes, you should be able to apply to attend a course nearer to home - assuming one is offered, of course.

Topical for all the wrong reasons.
I passed my test in May 1993 and received my first ever letter last Saturday.
A mere 22 year run of good luck - not even a speed awareness course before.

36 in a 30 caught by gatso on the A22 just North of East Grinstead.

Won't be a awareness course as it's over 83MPH (cut off for most forces). As others have said, £100 and three points.

Used to be 10% plus 6mph, but this was widely upped to 10% plus 9mph quite a while ago.

I'm fairly sure they thought I was doing 86 when I got invited on one of those courses.
