Anyone bothering with Talex or Snooper 3 Zero?
Discussion
Have a clean licence and like to keep it that way, but have been sweating for 10 days as a road that was 70 limit since it was built has been dropped to 50 and (unusually) there was a camera van (that I spotted rather late) shooting fish in a barrel. The Qashqai that just overtook me will be walking soon I'm sure...although he would have been perfectly legal a while ago...
Anyway nothing beats sensible safe progress and good observation but wondered if anyone uses the Snooper 3 Zero or the Talex device as a bit of backup? That Snooper seems to be the best around but hardly gets good reviews and its an ugly clumsy thing on the dash? Could be a total waste of money?
Any pre-emptive help will be useful as these cams are just so lucrative for the authorities and those that proliferate and manage them (let alone all the ex cops running speed awareness course businesses) that it wont be long before surveilance cams' gotchas will ping on an app on yer phone followed by another ping indicating a DD has been taken 300 yards later.

from your post you seem to be more worried about complying with the limits rather than just avoiding being done and driving fast irrespective, i hope i have that correct.
if that's correct, just buy a sat nav that has the cameras in there, and keep it updated, i know it won't have the mobile ones in, but if you know the limit, then it can be your choice if you choose to break the limit (knowing what it is)
Sorry if I have the wrong end of the stick here.

I'm pretty good, but anything that can help avoid a penalty for being a few mph over and not always 100% speedo attention fixated will be a bonus. Some limits feel so low these days...and they are just getting lower by the day...everywhere. They also change so often in such short distances - buy shares in signage companies now! Its just the Sat Nav stuff is just so inaccurate in my experience - they boast their databases but there are so many gaps. Then add the issue of updating built in ones designed a few years ago.
Happy to drop a couple of hundred quid on a product but there probably isn't anything that good out there, so its probably just stick to common sense, prudence and eyeballs!

I use the waze app on my phone, its pretty good as the database is updated by users as they spot them, i have been warned about mobiles before i got to them. best of all its free, plus has traffic and accident reports. It connects all the users together that run the app (think Google own them) I would imagine it will eventually get banned as it could become incredibly successfully at stopping people getting caught speeding

Someone mentioned this to me before - may give it another go! ThanksH20MRV said:
That's surprising, mine is good and I would not be without it.
Me too.... Don't leave home without it.... Ever. It can be an irritating bugger, but it works. Ken Figenus said:
I did mate but sent it back. It never shut up and tinnyly squawked for 30's on motorways and had no common sense as to direction/road - only your proximity to a camera.
