Do police Crime Prevention Officers still do home visits?
Discussion
Does anyone know if police Crime Prevention Officers still do home visits? Or have police budget cuts put a stop to this? (If it's area specific, then it would be Greater Manchester Police.)
Failing that, has anyone tried Yale's 130 Point Security Survey service at home? What do you think? Marketing or a useful service?

I think it will depend on the individual force. PCSOs in my force area do them.
Have a look on this website for some good pointers:

If PCSOs now do the crime prevention home visits, how well trained are they? Do they just give basic info (e.g. checking door and window locks) or more comprehensive advice? I know there used to be proper training for Crime Prevention Officers in the police, but wondered if budget cuts had impacted that.
Thanks Steve, that's a great website
