Bus to Van Mot query

I am waiting for the dvla to return my v5 to convert my minibus to a panel van. The mot ran out yesterday, if i mot it as a bus will i have to retest it once the v5 comes back?

It will all depend on what size of minibus it is and the gross weight. Upto 12 seats minibus is a class 4 test,16 seats is a class 5 full PCV test. Vans up to gross weight 3000kg are class 4, over 3000kg is class 7. The main difference between class 4 and 7 is the brake test, class 4 brake test calculated on unladen weight, class 7 gross weight. A 16 seat bus converted to van would be a class 7.
