Returning an Item
Discussion
I bought a carseat for my 3 year old a few weeks ago. The firm sent me the wrong one and agreed to refund and have the seat collected.
The seat was never collected and I have left 3 messages on their customer services answerphone asking them to rearrange collection - they still haven't got in touch.
At what point can I either dispose of or sell the carseat myself? Its their property so I've no right to sell it but what else am I supposed to do here? Where do I stand legally?

First question... Have they actually refunded you?
You need to give them reasonable time to collect the item, at their expense if they have sent the wrong item.
Send them an email, stating order references etc, informing them that they have already had 3 weeks to arrange collection and haven't done so. Tell them when you are in to accommodate the collection, or offer to leave it on the doorstep one day, (at their risk).
Give them a reasonable period of time (2 weeks?) after which if not collected or further contact made, you will presume they do not want it and will dispose of the item. After this don't chase them again.
Keep it in your garage for a bit of time after before selling it to be on the safe side.
