Have i gained a motorbike A licence ?
Discussion
Just checked my licence online because i wanted to see this new system with a code for myself, the really odd thing, i previously had no bike licence, but had the A category added a year or 2 ago with the code 79(tri) added, i believe this was the same for everyone with a full car licence and allows the driving of tricycle, however the 73 code is missing now, is this the same for everyone?
much chance of this sticking?

This has been done to death on here. You've not got a bike licence for free.
I know it's been done a few times with people not understanding the code limiting it to trikes, but i've not come across a thread of of the 73 code being missing, but maybe that's in the biker forums where i'd never dare venture for fear of someone chasing me down and smashing my window with a helmet because i misread one of their posts It doesn't matter. As much as people say that DVLA are going to lose your entitlements, nobody can come up with anything that's recent, everything is well over 5 years old. It's an old story, that keeps being regurgitated.
The new code is around trikes and something to do with harmonising with Europe. You haven't got a bike licence, other than the old 50cc moped grandfather rights if you're old enough.

It's actually a serious bone of contention. Somebody influential in Europe does not understand there are basically two types of trike, the motorcycle bodied and the car bodied. An example of the former is a Harley with a back axle although both converted motorcycles and specialist ones exist with a VW Beetle back end. The car bodied range from cars and vans like Del boy's to things like my Morgan tricycle. As a rule, the controls and road positioning needed are more car like than motorcycle like. The 'offending' bit of legislation is the Third European Directive on Driving Licences and as originally drawn up, would not have caused a problem. However somewhere in the review stages, the whole trike problem was added in, we think by someone who thinks all trikes are Harleys with back axles and not the much wider truth. It's fairly easy to track down changes in UK based legislation, but has proved impossible with this European one and we do not know who the guilty party was for sure.
In the UK, we have now taken advantage of the derogation in this, but if you passed your car test after 19th January 2013, you only gain the ability to drive trikes once older than 21 and it's not exportable. So you can't drive a trike to France if you are taking advantage of this bit of law. Without the derogation, or to have an exportable licence, you need to have passed all the bike tests and be 21 to drive stuff like my car.
The situation may be rectified eventually (support in Europe has been mobilised) but it's a long time off.

Look at me I shagged Kate Upton. Do you believe that? My mate is third in line to the throne. I have more money than Bill Gates. I've been banned from F1 for being too fast.

Passed my 125cc bike test (=<25kw for 2 years) with 5 days left to the change to the new rules. Phew!
That was lucky as I had failed in December and I couldnt find a test centre near me to take me on for a resit. I had to travel to the hintherland on A roads to redo the test but it was a liberating feeling riding back on the motorway after having passed my test.

That's not proof.
It's anecdotal evidence. DVLA have made a large number of cock ups in the past, somebody has reported a more recent cock up. That is a lot more credible than you saying you have more cash than Bill Gates.I don't understand why you stick up for the DVLA, they very regularly make monumental cock ups.
My wife lost her licence (with car and bike entitlements) completely after her handbag was stolen and she reported the loss of her licence to the DVLA. Rather than send a replacement, the DVLA cancelled the licence due to an admin cock up and then refused to reinstate it, so my wife ended up taking her car test again.
