Ooops. They should do extra training tongue out

Wonder if either driver will (ever) face any action. I always find it odd when investigations take ages - the accident happened Friday, how long does it take to ask the driver what happened lol

There was a recent thread about a driver that was reported for careless driving because of a very low speed (according to him) incident in which his trailer fell over. The police were not there when it happened but arrived 45 minutes later and reported him based on what they saw.

I wonder why an investigation is needed in this case....look at those vehicles!

I thought police drivers had advanced training meaning they can drive faster than everyone else and also use mobile communication devices whilst doing so.

Not at all. Only a very small percentage have advanced training. There are lots of police officers that are not even trained to respond on blue lights.

There is no training for using mobile coms while driving.

Yes, a picture can tell you everything about the circumstances, whether any further party/ies were involved, if anything were being avoided, mechanical failure / defect and all the other circumstances... Why investigate?

Yet no investigation was carried out in the case cited. Just a decision to report for CD based on the fact that there had been an incident.

Your loyalty is touching but you really are fighting a losing battle.

Ahh yes, the fruitless comparing of one internet thread reported by someone completely impartial to the outcome versus a picture and a super-reliable newspaper report. Completely cut and dried. rolleyes

A Dyfed-Powys spokeswoman said: "There were no other vehicles involved in the collision"

"Police can confirm that both vehicles were travelling in the same direction" scratchchin

The scene prior to the crash. The damaged postbox is just out of sight round the corner of the nearest building

Which has nothing to do with the comment I quoted and addressed, which was talking about this case.

If I were talking about the other topic, then I'd have quoted that part and spoken about it.

The answer is in the newspaper report. Obviously it was the fault of the postbox as it must have moved itself into the road causing one or both of the vehicles to swerve.

Which way were you travelling, PC Smith?
Forwards Sarge!
And you PC Jones, which way were you travelling?
Forwards as well Sarge!
So you were both travelling forwards? Thank you. That'll be all.

plenty of times i have seen on some of these police camera shows where someone has for what ever reason said they didn't notice the police car, and their attitude has been, well it's big enough and bright enough with it's day glow livery, how could you have missed it, someone should show them this photo.
