Hope someone can assist.

I'm helping the ex complete the divorce paperwork and I'm confused on the financial order section. Both agreed financials, so do the boxes re financial orders need ticking? Will get a clean break consent order drafted and submitted in the future but wondered if the boxes being ticked make any difference?

Sorry not to be all PH and post a load of advice with IANAL at the end, but as this is something that can affect you for the rest of your lives, do not try to do it on the cheap. It is worth a couple of hundred quid for consulting a solicitor to check over the paperwork. You might have agreed things now but things can change down the line.

I would suggest S,P & L section, you will get some proper advice, but sifting it from that given by gifted amateurs may be difficult

I agree will consult a sol for some advice, but just don't want to involve them at all costs.

Get the post shifted and you might get some proper advice after the weekend.

If there are no kids involved it won't be too hard to sort. Clean break order is a good plan.

Are the financials just agreed or is there a court order in place? What does the agreement say about pensions?

You're doing the right thing to complete the paperwork DIY but get a solicitor to check it before you file it. Any errors will bite the exes right in the arse in years to come, and the solicitor has indemnity insurance to cover this, you don't. Get the Dummies guide before you see a solicitor and it should just be a cheap check exercise.

When I say cheap I mean in comparison to fighting the whole thing via solicitors letter....
