Box Junction PCN paid in error - what now?
Discussion
Hi all,
I recently had to drive into London in my wife's Merc estate.
A couple of weeks later she received a PCN for stopping in a box junction. She handed the PCN to me and said I should pay it. True enough. So I did.
Now, the notice has been sitting on my desk at work and it's dawned on me that I never turned into that box junction. Furthermore, whilst the close up photo of the number plate is clearly our car, the photo of the actual infringement shows a car that isn't even a Merc. It's a dark coloured Golf with a similar outline.
There is one other car which has it's rear wheels in the junction but all but the last couple of feet of the car has been obscured by a massive dumper truck and cannot be identified.
Admittedly I should have looked more closely before paying (that's the power of SWMBO) but a lll the same I've written asking for my money back.
So…question is…what are my chances? Is here anything else I can do?
