Sunday evening (02/08/2015) my wife and i witnessed an accident onthe eastbound M62 just past the Leeds turn off. As an Army medic i was first on scene to help with the evac and treatment of the passengers involved, mainly shock and minor cuts/ bruises. My wife spoke to a very kind, professional emergency operator who assured her help was onthe way. Unfortunately the car was ultimately hit by two other cars, raising the number of injured. This was rapidy turning into a nightmare which was quickly handled by the appearance of other members of the public, the police, fire and ambulance services. My faith in humanity was completely restored that night so i would like to say thank you to:

1. The female emergency operator on duty that sunday night (around 2100 hrs).
2. The Police, Fire and Ambulance for arriving on scene so swiftly, especially as they were short on crews that night.
3. The members of the public who stopped to help and stayed until all casualties had been evacuated. We were there for a good two hours whilst everything was being sorted out.

If any PH members were involved that night then a huge well done and thank you.

I know a quick email to the police force, ambo and fire service would be well received smile. People are too quick to complain these days.

Myself and I am sure many people from the Pistonheads community would also like to thank you and your wife for the outstanding job you both did on that night and without your presence and quick thinking prevented any loss of life.

Everyone involved in the accident owes you both a debt of gratitude and everyone else involved at the scene.

I find you generally find the collective good in the majority of people when something really bad happens.

As above, an email to the relevant emergency services wouldn't go amiss.
