Question for the Bibs ....annoyed from Worcester !
Discussion
Boys and girls !
A bit of a rant, bit of a pisstake, and a bit of frustration here ......
What the f
k do you actually do these days ?
My local force .... West Mercia, recently announced in the local rag that they will no longer be attending, thus investigating burglaries.
I though this was typical media stuff, but perhaps not, they are definitely not attending thefts.
My daughters fiance has had a very expensive "electric" pushbike stolen from a locked (code and fob entry), camera monitored (three cameras), parking facility in some new flats in Worcester, the thieves couldn't defeat the chain and lock, so they've cut the "D" loop that Taylor Wimpey has fitted for bicycles to be attached to.
They can get almost no response from the Police, the security firm will release the footage to the Police if they request it, but all they (my daughter and her fiance). can get is a crime number, No Constable, no Special Constable, no PCSO, will attend.
So, what is a crime these days, and what do the Police actually do now ?
They don't move on gypos, we have quite an influx of these at the moment, they "monitor" them !
They don't seem to attend burglaries or thefts, they issue crime numbers.
They don't seem to do speed traps or much in the way of roads policing any more.
They don't seem to do foot patrols outside of city centers.
They don't regulate illegal parking in my area.
They don't man the front desk in their stations (when the station is actually open, if you are indeed lucky enough to have one).
They don't answer the phone if you ring them.
A bit of a rant, bit of a pisstake, and a bit of frustration here ......

I can't go from personal experience but yes, it did slightly puzzle me when I read tales about forces only investigating crime at odd numbered houses, or woke up this morning to Hugh Orde saying apparently they can't investigate crime because they're busy investigating historical allegations of sexual offences etc.
I suspect the average beat copper want to be catching criminals, the issue seems to be once you get above and coppers play politics

They still have time to issue seatbelt tickets, i moved from a petrol station to the carwash next door and it cost me £100 and taken 40 minutes of 2 of the slimy
s time
But no, burglaries are not a priority. Too busy to deal with them.
Then they wonder how the average hard working man on the street trying to get on with life despise them and avoid helping them.

Gypsies: Did that yesterday
Burglaries: Misquoting Sara Thornton, head of the National NPCC, does not equate to your Force saying 'we will not attend burglaries'.
Speed traps: That's what the Safety Camera Partnership is for. And they do far too many
Foot Patrols: The Neighbourhood team do them outside Cities. But it may have escaped your notice, there's a lot less Officers in the job
Parking: Deregulated. It's not now criminal, hence it is now the responsibility of your friendly Parking warden. You've now far more chance of being given a ticket instead of a warning.
Front desks: Stations closed because 30% (and rising) of the budget cut. Front desks open until late. Paying someone to sit in it all night for 1 or 2 people to come in is not affordable.
Answering the phone: They do. But guess what. There's more than you calling. Thousands of calls each day are made.

We receive nothing but help and support from 99.9% of people we come into contact with. Sorry to disappoint you on that one.OldGermanHeaps said:

So you think that if "the average hard working man on the street" saw a robbery take place, or a hit and run accident, saw someone set fire to a building, saw someone sexually assault a person, saw a drug dealer in their street peddling drugs, saw a child being abducted etc.,etc., etc., then they would refuse to help the Police and simply walk away without saying anything?Edited by OldGermanHeaps on Saturday 8th August 12:47
What a load of old cods-wallop!
The people who despise the Police tend to be either those caught breaking the Law or the minority of moronic idiots with a chip on their shoulder when it comes to the Police, who seem to think that everyone should just be free to do whatever they want regardless (and there are plenty of those on here!).
The vast majority of Law abiding "average hard working men on the street" appreciate that the Police have a difficult and often dangerous job to do, that is highly stressful at times, are being continually restricted by ridiculous rules/regulations and health and safety Laws, and realise that there is only so much that they can do.
The funny thing is, the same people who come on here saying that they despise the Police and wouldn't ever help them, are the exact same people who then post complaining that the Police never seem to catch the criminals!
Here's a thought for all those dumb-asses: Perhaps if more people helped the Police then they'd stand a better chance of catching criminals!
(Think about it!..........C'mon, you can do it!...........See the logic...............it's there if you look closely enough! )
Nigel, I thiught better of you than that. You know full well that due to the cuts, it's a fact that there are less cops to deal with your burglaries. If you think its bad now, it's going to get a whole lot worse over the next 5 years, and you'll be looking back with envy at the response you're getting today.

Yep, same here. Within an hour of reporting too most of the time. Most people will never have any reason to deal with the police and will believe the police are all good (I used to be in this camp). The Met spent £12 million in 2013 telling the public how nice they are.
Most criminals despise the police - no surprises here. I wouldnt want to be a cop loved by crims.
A significant number of innocent people and victims of crime who come in contact with the police will have a negative experience.
I noticed not one bib on here contributed to the mail theft thread. A home owner did more than required and still the police couldnt be bothered. He literally did the bibs job for them. How can we be told that they have no resources yet they spend half an hour writing up a £100 ticket for a member of the public but cant respond to a burglary? I guess not wearing your seatbelt is a greater crime than burglary these days.
I guess they are busy investigating all the historical sex crimes they couldnt be bothered to deal with back then as they were pals with the perpetrators.
Working in construction is more dangerous than being a police officer. In 2014, 142 contruction workers were killed at work compared to 3 police officers (all road accidents)

Same here. Also within the hour in majority of cases. More and more burgs are now staying with response now, whereas they may once have gone to the Feds, but they all still get clocked and attended.
The shift do the primary investigation and then it goes off in the system to coppers in disguise to criticise
The shift then get beasted to and from the next misper, social services stand in job, domestic, harassment or mental health blah.

The reason BIB on here dont often partake other than to correct blatant rubbish is people like you.
In this post you have managed to compare police deaths to construction, presume a 'significant number of people' will only have a negative encounter (really?)and have a pop at the investigstion of sexual offences.
Thats why most of the old bill dont bother, idiots like you so dont moan as you're now reaping what you have sowed.

Idiotic (no surprise) and wrong (definitely no surprise). At least 2 Bib responded by page 3. And then I realised I was humouring you and gave up looking. But keep going Eccles Cakes, you do give us all something to laugh about. Most criminals despise the police - no surprises here. I wouldnt want to be a cop loved by crims.
