Looking to issue a money claim online for rental arrears owed but, as the tenant has done a runner, I do not know his current address.
I do however know where he works (he will not tell me his current address for obvious reasons I guess).

Any ideas as to the best way to proceed?

Do I get a tracing agency involved to try and find out where he currently lives?

Can I just give his last known address (my rental property) and get the claim served to his works address?

Cheers
Steve

Rental car, sunglasses, packet of crisps, and go sit outside his work half an hour before he finishes. Follow him home, then you have his address.

Would be a great option if only I didn't live 350 miles away!

I could try and get someone else to do it perhaps....

engage investigator to do it

evidence defendant's refusal to supply current address

include cost of investigator's service in claim

Can you see him on Facebook? Places might give it away...

Send him a letter with a typed envelope to your/his old house.

If it doesn't get delivered two days later, you know he has a redirection set up.

If they letter is there, he doesn't.

Can I then find out where it's redirected too though?
Given the amount of mail that was piled up I'm not sure he has redirected.

Exactly this.

Personally, I wouldn't bother.

thumbup if he posts a lot from the new address you'll probably be able to zoom to within a few houses smile

Ask the court for permission to serve it on his work address...
