Question re parking

Now I know to everyone who knows the answer it's going to sound like a stupid question. But I just want to double check the rules

Tomorrow I want to park in a car park that charges an hourly rate until 6pm after 6pm it's free

I want to park in it around 4pm until around 11pm I'm I right in thinking I can do this all I need to do is pay for 2hrs until it becomes free?

I appreciate the answer may possibly be an obvious yes but as I've never had this situation arise until now I wanted to make sure

usually yes
and quite often the machine will know this and as soon as you put in the money for the two hours taking you to the uplaid section, will shift the valid until time through until the next day
