Somebody in South Wales owes me a pint or three...

In May, one of the fleet of vehicles I manage was captured at 84 in 50 in Cardiff. NIP comes to us, we supply the company details of who has the vehicle.
3 months later, we get a letter from SW Camera Unit telling us their NIP to the company has been returned as "No longer at this address".
We ring the company, they confirm that they still have post at the address, but are in the process of moving offices and confirm this by email.
I give this information to SWCU, and leave it at that.
Then I get a court summons for Failing to identify driver, S172 RTA 1988... Oh Joy.
It's still within a couple of weeks of the 6 month period of charging the driver at this point, but as the SWCU have passed it to the courts, they are not interested any more - I emailed them the details and customer addresses, and dates that we were informed of address changes, but no, "you have to speak to the court, it's out of our hands". "But I can provide the information you need to identify and charge the driver?". "Sorry, out of our hands now"....
I submitted a not guilty plea by post to Cardiff Magistrates, along with all mitigating circumstances, copies of emails from customer confirming addresses and dates etc.
A couple of calls to and from the court, and they have decided to drop the case, but it is now outside of the six month window to prosecute the driver.
So if you happened to be driving a 15 plate, Mythos Black Audi A4 on the A48 Eastern Avenue, (Llanedeyrn) in Cardiff at 13.16hrs on Wednesday May 13th this year, have a great Christmas! Just keep your speed down a bit please. It caused a stupid amount of paperwork for me.
