A new record, perhaps?
Discussion
I (unfortunately) have just received a NIP for 60 in a 50 in the variable speed limit section of the M25. No excuses - poor observation in very heavy traffic and probably failed to see the decrease in speed limit from 60 to 50.
Anyhoo - on to the 'record' bit of the title - I had just picked the (brand spanking new!) car up from Tilbury docks; upon collection, the car registered 8 miles on the Odometer, ergo at the time of the offence it had ~13 miles showing.
Anyone been captured in a car with fewer miles on the odometer, or do I have this shameful PH record?
*Hangs head in shame*

Not a conviction, but in August 1980 I was in the Isle of Wight and at about 9:30am on 1 Aug I saw on the forecourt of a Mercedes dealer / filling station a smashed up Merc saloon on a brand new W reg. Filled up with fuel and asked what had happened. They'd stayed open to midnight to allow punters to collect their new cars, and this bloke had pulled out from the garage into path of oncoming car at about 12:10am. Would have done about 20 yards in it before the accident!
Depends on who is running the course. Could be interesting and you learn something, or patronising/yawn inducing. Start with an open mind, stay awake, and be willing to participate if called upon. Be wary of arguing the toss with the person delivering it if they are the preachy type.

My dad went to pick up his brand new car from Ford dealership.Car parked outside workshop after PDI checks, and before final road-test.
Someone took the side out of it, so was damaged before being on the road.

Take some tape for your eyelids!
It's possibly the biggest waste of 4 hours you can imagine!
Any useful information, they could've covered in 10 minutes!

In the 70s when I was walking home from school 1st August I watched a guy drive a brand new Mk3 cortina off the forecourt into the side of a van , he turned the wheel but the bonnet was longer than he thought , he drove it about 10 yardsForums | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
