mi,FORD Accident Management Scheme.
Discussion
I recently had a Ford Focus ST lease car delivered and received in the post from Ford a booklet about their Accident Management scheme called mi.FORD that runs along side your normal insurance. This is available to all Ford owners with new and old cars and is free of charge.
About mi.FORD
Our new Accident and Emergency app puts accident repair at your fingertips by providing a direct link to Ford Accident Management.
When you call our Accident Management team, your vehicle details and location are automatically transmitted to the call handler who will take you through the accident management process.
We will:
Recover your vehicle where it cannot be driven, free of charge
Provide you with a courtesy car – even if it’s not included in your insurance policy whether or not you were at fault
Liaise with your insurance company to process the claim and have repairs approved
Complete your claim form
Ensure your vehicle is repaired at a Ford Accident Repair Centre
Only Ford genuine parts will be fitted
Only Ford trained technicians will work on your car
Your Ford panel warranty will be maintained.
You won't have to:
Remember all your details when you phone
Worry about looking for the number
Provide all the information to the call handler as this will automatically be sent to them from the app.
As LoonR1 Is the insurance expert it would be interesting to know what he thinks of it and would he recommend if their was an accident to just use your insurance company or to use the mi.FORD Accident Management scheme as well as they will liaise with your insurance company.Anything to watch out for.

That won't work with old cars, or do you have to have a system installed like a Tracker? Is there an annual maintenance charge?speedking31 said:

Pretty well all manufacturers have their "own" - in reality many of them are run by the same company.
The manufacturers motivation is to keep your car repair within their network, and away from the insurance companies authorised repairer.
ETA: The firm I was thinking of is Verex - their scheme is called Retention: http://verexgroup.com/accident-aftercare

I have used ford accident management and can't fault them. They sorted everything out quickly and hassle free and didn't sell my details down the river to all the ambulance chasers.
I think the whole process only involved about 5 or 6 phone calls from beginning to end. Unless they have updated it the app didn't offer anything of significance
