Access Protection Lines - enforceable?
Discussion
So thanks to the local council making another nearby residential area resident only parking our road has become a dumping ground for commuter parking, unlicenced/untaxed vehicles and overnight parking.
Some of the bell-ends decide to encroach on our access protection lines and despite polite notices left on their vehicles continue to make accessing driveways difficult.
So the question is are access protection lines enforceable?
If so by whom?
If not are there any practical suggestions to deter the bell-ends?
TIA, Pewe.

I'm sure the next residential street along will say the same about you once your neighbours apply for reidents only parking "to fix" the problem

They are advisory in teh sense that they warn drivers not to park where they are as they may commit an obstruction offence if they park where they are marked.
The offence can be committed whether there are lines there or not it would seem.

I used to work for a Parking Section in a London Borough, we installed a number of these but made the resident aware that we could not enforce them, they are advisory only.
Call the Police if they are abused was our advice, as they are the ones with power of enforcement.

How do you know that some of the cars that are so impudently parked on your street are untaxed? Have their tax discs expired!!??

Impudence has nothing to do with it:- a) It's the anti-social aspect of blocking someone's drive access/exit that bothers me and b)it's the illegality of leaving un-taxed/un-insured vehicles on the public highway - apparently DVLA think the same as they are now regularly clamping the offenders.Cheers, Pewe.
