Now we no longer have tax discs I notice more DVLA cameras noting those without valid road fund licence.
If they catch a vehicle which is registered in trade do they automatically ignore these and not bother to send a warning letter?
I have driven through many such camera sites and not once received a letter all my cars are in trade and driven displaying trade plates

Isn't there a bit of the V5 you send off that states the vehicle is in the trade? If so, surely when their system looks up the number plate in their DB, it will say it's in the trade and no letter will be generated (I would assume it's all automatic)?

Trade plates should be covering the cars VRN, so not sure as to your point?

In the real world how many traders cover the existing number plates with the trade plates. Most just place the front plate in the screen.
My point was if I am driving on the road and the DVLA photograph me would they ignore the fact the car is not taxed as there records show the car "in trade"
