Zipcar auto renew annual membership - fee taken SOLVED
Discussion
I have just noticed that zipcar (actually zipvan but same company) have taken an annual membership fee from me on 4th Feb. I joined them a year ago and used the company once; I wasn't aware they automatically enrolled me in some kind of auto-renew direct debit (or possibly 'continuous payment authority', who knows) scheme. I sent the the email below
Hello
I wish to cancel my membership of zipvan. I also want a refund of the annual fee which I have just noticed on my bank account of £19.50 taken on 4/2/16. I was not aware that it was automatically a recurring annual membership, and I would not have agreed to this if I had realised.
My zipcar number is xxxxxxx
Thankyou
Mr Coolhands
I have had a standard jolly email from them this morning:
We're sorry to see you go! As of February 15, 2016 at 12:00:00 AM UTC, we've closed your account.
but no mention of refund.
Question: Am I able to force a refund of the fee? Anyone know?

- EDIT I will leave this here for other internet searchers of same problem - they have in fact refunded my fee back to the card I paid on. It was not in the email but is a message visible on my 'invoice' when I log into the zipcar website. THANKS FOR READING!
