Ok so I love my iPads but for 6 year old decided as with my now 8 year old to get Samsung kids tablet. My 8 year olds has been OK fairly sturdy and only charge port and firmware issues, cost me £84 online.

Anyway this year my 6 year old wanted the same and can't get the kids tab so bought 7 inch tab 4 from very and got it on a code £109.

Fast forward to this week and its gone dead charged it up and the screen now doesn't response to touch apart form one corner.

Thought I would do want I do with Apple is try the manufacturer direct and called samsung. After a long time on hold the said even though it 2 months old, they said the screen issue voids the warranty. There is no way that could break without user error. I said they must be clairvoyant as they haven't even seen the tablet.

Anyway they say it's chargeable repair straight away.

I called very and they say they won't take a return without a authorisation code from Samsung, they say they won't issue a code, they don't. Problem is my other half bought it for very and she won't argue on the phone with them.

Samsung have agreed to have it back and look at it but he said be prepared to pay and they keeps saying that.

Anyone else had issues with them?

I take it you were driving too fast and got pulled by the cops for messing with your kids' tablets while driving. Or else this is in totally the wrong subforum.

The first question is exactly when did you buy it? SOGA or CRA. Either way they have to prove it was misuse that caused the failure, not just say it.

I've a few Samsung Android products myself but not had to use their repair centre yet.

Why not return it to the seller? They are the ones with the obligation to refund / repair / replace it.

Bought Nov for xmas present.

The online retailer won't take it back, appreciate my contract is with them, they want a repair code for. Samsung, they say they don't issue codes.

I'd maybe try getting in contact with them again the same way (maybe a new start employee with lack of knowledge)
Failing that you could try contact through social media like Twitter or Facebook.

OP, read this : http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/... - particularly the 30 days to 6 months bit.

OP i see you are in the SW
There is a Samsung shop in the cribbs causeway mall.

I appreciate they were not your retailer but maybe they can throw some light on the fault or the fault number issue

The on line retailer is the one you have a contract with, and its for them to deal will the issue. never deal with the manufacturer direct if you can help it.

I once bought a flat screen monitor when they were brand new tech, and very expensive. It died after 2 weeks so I went back to the shop. They refused to deal with it saying after 1 week the manufacturer would deal with it.

It was returned to the manufacturer, and they sent me back what was clearly a second hand one. it was scratched, had the wrong power cable, no instructions warranty etc and would not sit square on its stand.

Initially the manufacture refused to replace that one saying it was their policy to replace with "refub" units. I kept on up the chain until someone agreed that it was sub-standard so would replace with new.

The one that arrived was also refurb/secondhand but in better condition.....except it would not power up.

This time I went back to the retailer and refused to leave the shop until they fixed it, replaced it or refunded me. They finally agreed that it was their problem not mine, and gave me a new one.

Looks, like I will have to drive to their offices as they are refusing to take it back without a authorisation code from Samsung.

One of the reasons I like buying from shops as I can go in and piss and moan in these situations. These online only ones have you on that front.

I won't buy from them again as they didn't honour a 9 months interest free on my laptop despite having a screen dump of the order, they keep saying I wasn't elibgible for the deal despite the screen showing it was bought on that basis, i have tried standing my ground they think the are a law unto themselves.

If you google other people complain they don't honour these type of promos.

It's very by the way avoid like the plague.

Did you pay by credit card?

If so, then read up on Section 75 of the consumer credit act:
