Pulled over speeding, next?
Discussion
So been pulled over by an unmarked police car, given the bit of paper that you get telling you how much you were speeding by etc, and then drove off. Just wondering if the letter that comes through next will have anything on the envelope? not telling the mrs about it as its just another excuse for her to moan and groan haha, so just wondering if il get a letter with a massive police logo stamped all over it?
also do I need to inform my insurance immediately, or is it just a case of telling them when i renew?
last thing, what happens next? do i just pay the fine or do i have to send my licence away or anything?

I had a unmarked X5 come up behind me on the M62 this morning , blue light stuck to the roof but not on, got about 100m from me then dived onto the hard shoulder still at the same speed eventually slowing to a stop
No idea what that was all about , I was slightly over 70 but not enough to warrant any interest but I suppose we'll wait and see

Round here an NIP comes in a white A5 envelope with Kent Police written on it.
As you were stopped I assume you've already been given that bit so don't know what the next communication will look like.
The OP would have been given a verbal NIP at the scene so no NIP, only one of AGTLAW's 4 options. As you were stopped I assume you've already been given that bit so don't know what the next communication will look like.

Odds are they were doing something totally unrelated to you. In my experience, traffic cars gather the information they want without you noticing and if/when they want to take it further, are not subtle about it.No idea what that was all about , I was slightly over 70 but not enough to warrant any interest but I suppose we'll wait and see
Get Daytona355 to ring the High Commissioner to get it quashed. That's best done at the time of being stopped though presumably while traffic plod is standing there whistling. What you then have to do is continually repeat offend so you become 'public enemy no 1' all without ever getting a ticket. This has to continue ad nauseum for a considerable length of time.
You then report it on PH and we all laugh at you and call you names.

At one point, I was public enemy number one in car terms, according to the local cops....I was getting stopped several times a day sometimes if they thought I was a roll over, yet have no points, then or now, on the licence....My number plates seemingly were noted down in certain officers notebooks on the express instruction to try to nick me, their overenthusiam was not their friend.

I remember that one or two have seen me in action where I get the bs stop from cops trying to ticket me, and getting nowhere. It was such a regular occurrence when I was driving....invariably someone I knew would ring me and ask what it was I was stopped for on various occasions. Yet, despite all those stops, no tickets since 1996/7 ....

I ... have been stopped for various supposed 'reasons' many many times, at certain periods, multiple times in a week and even in a day.
I have plenty of policeman that are clients .. I've even cheekily rang them for advice while being stopped
A parking ticket is a lesser issue but I'm sure a phone call would sort that too, unless this is misinterpreted in which case apologies I have plenty of policeman that are clients .. I've even cheekily rang them for advice while being stopped

Thanks for highlighting that none of those conversations with cops were to get me out of a situation with another cop, advice on what the rules are isn't getting a slide.
