Where do I stand legally on securing a refund for a smartphone which has a terminal hardware (memory) error as identified by the manufacturer?

This is the second - the first had a serious battery drain issue. I don't really have any faith in a third replacement, so would like a refund.

How would I arrange this with Amazon as they're suggesting that I 'may like to contact the manufacturer'. Can't seem to navigate to the right help page for a refund of failed electronic goods.

Can anyone help please?

Good result! I ordered some coffee from Amazon, 2 of the 6 glass jars were broken on delivery, they sent a replacement out the next day (despite me offering to send the originals back). Good customer service.

Main thing to remember is, your contract is with the retailer (within the first year), not the manufacturer...

This. My (then) 3 year old's scooter - the wheel snapped off - he'd had it 8 months, it had been used (not overly so) and Amazon replaced it, no questions asked. Even paid for the return of the broken scooter.

Brilliant customer service. smile

I purchased a Kindle from Amazon, it died after 8 months so it was under their 1 year warranty. They replaced it straightaway. The replacement died after 4 months and my warranty was up from my original purchase and the replacement wasn't under warranty confused No idea what that was all about, just chucked it in the bin and signed upto Netflix hehe
