Insurance Claim Q
Discussion
Some kind lady decided to park her s
tbox in the back of my car in Sainsbury's car park earlier. Fortunately there appears to only be a bit of paint damage to my bumper.
If I begin a claim against her through my insurance company am I likely to lose my no claims and pay my excess towards the claim? Even if I only notify my insurer will I have this marked as a claim or taken into consideration for renewal?
Otherwise I'm wondering whether it's worth not bothering with the claim and just getting it done myself.
All advice appreciated!

My car was written off whilst parked outside my house.

Because it was an unattended incident I didn't lose my no claims, didn't have to pay any excess and even though I have to declare it for 5 years when taking out new insurance it doesn't affect my premiums. As I said on another thread, some quotes are lower because of having the claim on there when you play around with confused dot com. I've no idea why.
I'm not sure if all insurance companies are the same though - I was with esure.
The only problem I have now, even 18 months on, are the daily calls from people trying to get me to put an injury claim in. Would be pretty difficult to get injured whilst not even being in the car. t
