Despite having a clear photo of this dhead driving along with his satnav ( turned off!) bang in front of him on the windscreen, when I popped into the police station they weren't interested.

He was actually bobbing his head left and right to see past the satnav. Only wanted them to 'have a word' with him before he runs someone down. Bit no, not unless I had independent witnesses also willing to give a statement.

Maybe they're too busy catching burglars and rapists perhaps?

After all that's what the majority of people on here want them to do rather than persecuting motorists.

Just saying...

This^^^

Plus, it's hardly unusual. I'm surprised he didn't have his phone stuck to the screen next to it.

The picture doesn't show who is driving, so it's not clear.

Perhaps a bit extreme to go into a police station and report this! Maybe it would have been better to have a word with the driver yourself if the opportunity arose.

Failing that, you could just forget about it........

Do people actually do this? Not plonk a satnav in front of their eyeline as I know that goes on, but go running to the police over something so trivial? (Not to mention using nonsensical Americanisms.)

Strange unconcerned replies from PH so far, because if it were a story about some plonker crashing in to a load of cyclists as he was unsighted by the stupid positioning of his sat-nav, there would be uproar.

This is actually quite a common scene

I can assure you if they were stopped & asked to perform an eyesight test they would most probably fail. You will be astonished at why people put them there!

Sadly our totally unpoliced roads are partly to blame
