What is considered reasonable in terms of the repair of a defective purchase please?

Bought a new camera off eBay (Fuji X100T) it died after 3 months of very, very light use. The focus keeps hunting.

Vendor wants 4 - 8 weeks to repair it. (Realistically can these cameras be repaired unless by Fuji?)

Is this a reasonable timescale with regard to 2015 legislation?

I need the camera asap for a holiday.

Thoughts?

Bet its a return to Fuji.

Quite an expensive bit of kit, so can see the delay.

Sometimes that's the problem in buying on the net rather than th high street.

Not sure what is reasonable4 weks is 8 weeks isn't in my opinion.
